Lori Kifer Johnson

Group Head, Edelman

Fall 2016

Favorite Project

My favorite projects have been related to health care and education. I have experienced inordinate motivation while working with nonprofit clients, who have a tremendous mission and opportunity to make the world better. Most recently I helped lead a team through Orlando's tragic response to the Pulse Shootings in June 2016.

My Career

I'm the current General Manager for Edelman's Orlando office. I lead a team of 14 in the Orlando office and share resources across Edelman's global network to bring the best of Edelman to clients throughout Florida. I'm responsible for new business development, portfolio management, fostering leadership with Edelman U.S. leaders, maintaining an Edelman culture in a small office environment, and leading a team that produces best-in-class work for clients.

I chose to attend UF because…

I needed a reputable program offering the flexibility of online coursework to accommodate my demanding career with travel expectations all while balancing the needs of my family.

My favorite thing about UF was…

Creativity in programming with faculty who are committed to doing the right thing for their students.

In my free time, I spend it by…

Exercising, spending time with my family, traveling and reading.

I use my degree in my professional life by…

Gaining my master’s has allowed me to become an adjunct instructor at a local university. I have enjoyed the opportunity to interact more with young students and see how the future generation is thinking and developing.

My favorite class was…

Cultural Communication.

My favorite professor was…

Robert Grupp.

If I could have dinner with anyone, I would choose…

Hillary Clinton — this is not a political desire, but related to absorbing insights around leadership opportunities for women and advice on maintaining motivation to keep your career fresh and exciting.

If I knew I could not fail, I would…

Take a risk and invent a product or business solution. I’d like to take it through concept to production to end user point.

If money was not an issue, I would love to…

Take a year to travel the world.
