Evan Kropp (Ph.D., University of Georgia) is the Executive Director of Distance Education at the College of Journalism and Communications (CJC), where he oversees the college’s undergraduate and graduate online programs. Since joining CJC in 2019, he has led major initiatives to expand access, strengthen academic quality, and position the college as a leader in online communication education.
Under his leadership, the college earned CEPR certification from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for its online public relations program, launched innovative graduate concentrations such as Digital Journalism and Multimedia Storytelling, and implemented a college-wide online course quality initiative that raised teaching and learning standards across all programs.
In addition to his administrative role, Kropp serves as an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Media, Production, Management, and Technology, teaching and mentoring students in media studies and professional practice. His work reflects a commitment to innovation in distance education, ensuring that online students receive a rigorous, engaging, and career-relevant experience.
