I oversee, address, and resolve all NET30 vendor, third party, and employee expense issues ensuring that invoices are reviewed, processed and coded to the corresponding general ledger. My position involves communicating with the President and Accounting Manager to ensure vendor checks are cut, signed, and mailed within terms and vendor accounts stay current.
Traveling, reading Theme Park Tourist articles, and eating all the frozen yogurt I can.
Hi I’m Jen, a Jersey girl who always dreamed of attending a Florida University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Systems but have always been drawn more towards the design aspects. After completing consecutive semesters in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World transitioning into a corporate lifestyle was difficult. I wanted a career change, one that truly made me happy. In order to begin my journey to career happiness, I decided to enroll online at UF for my master’s degree in the Web Design and Online Communications program as I have a passion for, and to learn, all things UI/UX.

Taking the internship course was a huge achievement for me in general, as it was one of the goals I set for myself when I was accepted into the WDOC program. During my internship with a Christian TV Station, I was tasked with the responsibility of simply updating their website content. However, I took it upon myself to design mockups and wireframes showcasing how they could enhance the usability of their website pages. My advisor was thrilled at my “go-getter” behavior and the mockups were approved and implemented. From that point on my web responsibilities grew. My favorite highlight however, was when I designed a homepage header image which they chose to display as a billboard advertisement on a Florida highway!
During the Web Interactivity course, I used one of the projects as an opportunity to design a WordPress website for a full food service company in Florida. The client loved the site design and after tailoring the pages beyond project needs, I worked with them to purchase a domain and established their online presence.
I currently work at Tallen Technology Rentals, an audio and visual technology rentals company in their accounting department.
Their willingness to keep moving forward. Multiple times during the semester we as students are asked to fill out surveys which voices our opinion on our instructors and classes which helps to improve the quality of the course. I loved hearing about how course and project objectives changed semester to semester to fit the needs of the students in an ever changing field.
Although my current position is within accounting, I have used what I learned in the WDOC program in my current professional role by partnering with our IT department to help improve employee usability of internal workflow processes. I have also been lucky enough to land a few freelance opportunities. Recently, I worked with a non-profit organization to update their WordPress site as well as suggested and implemented ways in which they could increase site usability. In addition to web specific skills, I have learned how to effectively time manage multiple projects and how to clearly communicate ideas and suggestions through online communication.
Jessica Pelasky, from Web Principles and Advanced Web 1. Jessica taught in a way that made it easy to understand HTML and CSS. I had the best time coding websites for her classes because her projects allowed us to be as creative as we wanted.
