Anthony Knopps is a graduate instructor in the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. He also serves as a senior instructor in the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and as an affiliate faculty member of GW’s Global Food Institute, founded by chef and humanitarian José Andrés. A TEDx speaker, coach, and author, Knopps brings extensive journalism, political communication, and international media experience to the classroom.

Before transitioning to higher education, Knopps spent more than two decades in journalism. He led or helped lead newsrooms in Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, and Ohio; served as political director for a multinational broadcast group; and worked for ABC News. His reporting and leadership experience includes covering multiple U.S. presidents in Washington, D.C., and abroad. He is a multiple Emmy Award–winning journalist and a recipient of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.

Knopps has also worked internationally to strengthen ethical and strategic communication practices. Through the U.S. Department of State’s Georgian Media Partnership Program, he helped train journalists in the Republic of Georgia in ethical storytelling. As a strategic communications consultant for Vietnam Television in Hanoi, he has trained reporters in storytelling, brand development, and communication with political leaders. He currently works with the National Endowment for Democracy, providing guidance on ethical standards and best practices in media activities.

Knopps is the author of nine books. His newest title, The No-Fail Mission, Volume II, is scheduled for release in September 2026 and features a foreword by President Bill Clinton. The book shares the stories of 13 U.S. service members who supported the Office of the President.
