Dr. Carol Morgan is an adjunct professor in the College of Journalism and Communications. She teaches MMC 6400, Mass Communication Theory.

She received her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Nebraska, Master’s Degree in Media Studies from Northern Illinois University, and B.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois.

Dr. Carol has taught a wide range of communication courses over the last 30 years. Mass Communication Theory is one of her favorite classes to teach. Some other ones that she has taught throughout her career include Broadcast Criticism, Portrayal of Relationships in the Media & Social Media, Race/Class/Gender in the Media, and many more.

Her passion is to educate students about how to be critical thinkers in this world, especially when it comes to traditional media and social media. She feels this is such an important skill to have in this modern era, and she is honored to be able to help educate the next generation.

In addition to her teaching, she is the author of four books, numerous articles in scholarly journals, and has presented her research all over the country. She is also a regular TV personality on a local television show where she educates the viewers about a variety of communication topics. Finally, she is a keynote speaker, workshop leader, the creator of video courses for the general public, and writer for popular websites such as the Huffington Post.

Dr. Carol lives in Dayton, Ohio with her husband. She also has two grown sons.
