Dr. Evan Kropp assumed his role at the University of Florida in 2019 as the third director of UF CJC Online within the College of Journalism and Communications. He was elevated to the position of Executive Director in 2021. Concurrently, Dr. Kropp holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Media Production, Management, and Technology, and is recognized with Graduate Faculty status.

His previous tenure as Associate Dean at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) showcased his adept oversight of both graduate and undergraduate Communication programs. Dr. Kropp played a pivotal role in pioneering the world’s first undergraduate program where students could seamlessly transition between on-campus, online, and competency-based international programs. Notably, at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, he served as an assistant professor and was the architect behind the college’s 2018 Quality Enhancement Plan, a crucial component for accreditation by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Earlier in his academic career, at the University of Georgia, he contributed as an instructor at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and served as an assistant with the prestigious Peabody Awards.

Before his foray into higher education, Dr. Kropp held prominent roles in sales and marketing with several small businesses and large multinational corporations. His entrepreneurial spirit brought him success as the owner and operator of several small businesses.

With a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, Dr. Kropp directs his focus on elevating the CJC online graduate programs to a world-class standard. Under his guidance, the online master’s concentration in Public Relations achieved a historic milestone as the first program ever to receive the Certificate in Education for Academic Programs in Public Relations (CEPR) certification from PRSA. Annually, the online graduate programs garner recognition as top-ranked programs by organizations such as EdSmart, Intelligent.com, and Best Colleges.

Dr. Kropp’s academic pursuits focus on critical/cultural media studies and strategic communication for non-profits. His scholarly contributions are evident in publications across reputable journals and websites, including KOME – An International Journal of Pure Communication Inquiry and Faculty Focus from Magna Publications. Additionally, he served as the former Chair of the Broadcast Education Association’s Student Scriptwriting Competition, and he earned first place in BEA’s Academic Paper Competition in 2016 for his work on “The Influence of Connected Viewing on a Television Writer’s Room.”
