I work for the Distance Education department of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. I support each one of our team members with any assistance they may need to make the online MAMC experience better for current and future students.

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, I am a true Floridian. Even though I lived for a few years in beautiful North Carolina, I couldn’t stop myself from returning to the state that I love to attend the University of Florida. I was impressed by the panoply of culture hidden in the verdant oasis of Gainesville, and I couldn’t find it in me to leave. I met the love of my life on campus, and today we’re married with two dogs, a cat, and a ball python. Looking for a way to harness my creativity in a constructive way, I enrolled in UF again for the MAMC in Web Design and Online Communication. With all of my new tools and skills, I’m ready to unleash my full creative potential on the world.

During the course of the classes, I was able to immediately apply my lessons to my job. I created an identity guide for my employer and developed branded communication pieces and collateral materials, including annual investment reports, calendars, event invitations, and newsletter templates. It was the first time I felt like a real designer, and the feeling has been with me ever since.

The supportive environment to grow and develop your skills and confidence. Both teachers and fellow classmates would offer helpful criticism on each project that really drove me to grow as a designer.
I utilize Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator nearly every day to develop branded designs and graphics for both print and web publication. The program has been instrumental in giving me the tools and knowledge to use my creativity to support clients in their marketing and engagement efforts.
