Career Growth for Web Designers
Communications professionals with digital skills are in high demand as businesses, nonprofits and public-sector agencies increasingly use the Internet to engage consumers and advocates. According to a recent study by Bullhorn, 64 percent of recruiters are facing a shortage of skilled applicants for digital marketing positions.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the employment of web developers will increase 27 percent over the next decade, much quicker than the average of all other occupations. This demand is driving higher earnings for qualified individuals.
Careers in the online communication industry are as varied as the people needed to fill them. Some positions require more design skills or writing talents, while others attract conceptual thinkers and strategists. Salaries for these positions often exceed $100,000 per year. A few of the job titles you may qualify for after earning your master’s degree specializing in web design include:
- Digital Marketing Strategist
- Web Designer
- Brand Manager
- Marketing Director
- Online Marketing Manager
- Web Content Coordinator
- Graphic Designer
- Online Campaign Strategist
- Web Manager
- Digital Media Manager
- Digital Media Director
- Senior Web Producer
And, with our Master Access benefit, graduates can return and review master’s degree courses forever, within their chosen specialization and in others offered by the UF College of Journalism and Communications.
