Interim Director of Distance Education

Kara is a proud graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communication’s Web Design and Online Communication master’s program. Prior to obtaining her master’s degree, Kara graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 2012 with a B.S. in Advertising and a B.S. in Recreation, Parks and Tourism with a specialization in Event Management.

Jennifer Ford

Marketing & Communications Director

Jennifer is the Marketing and Communications Director for UF CJC Online and a graduate of the Web Design and Online Communication master’s program. Prior to obtaining her master’s degree, Jen earned a B.A. in Mass Communication from Idaho State University, specializing in visual communication. She also serves as the president of AIGA Gainesville and is passionate about design and community building.

Daressa Howard

Admissions & Enrollment Coordinator

Daressa proudly serves as the Admission and Enrollment Coordinator for the UF CJC Online graduate programs. Daressa is a graduate of the University of Florida, earning her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Thereafter, she attended the University of Central Florida, earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration with a concentration in Higher Education. Daressa is passionate about connecting students of all backgrounds to renowned educational opportunities and is most excited to implement the extensive knowledge that she has gained from her previous roles in the University Enrolment Management division, to serve and support the dynamic students who look to enroll in our programs.

Distance Graduate Student Advisor

Tiffany is a double Gator, having received both a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Arts in mass communications in web design and online communications from the University of Florida. With over nine years in the academic and nonprofit sectors, Tiffany uses her extensive experience with digital development, event management, customer service, and strategic communications to provide the best possible support to staff, faculty, alumni, and students of the distance learning program. Natalie Lee

Distance Graduate Student Advisor

Natalie is a double Gator and graduated from UF with a Master’s in Education in 2015 and a B.S in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism in 2011. As a former teacher, Natalie has thoroughly enjoyed working in the field of education in varying capacities and is excited to use her experience to work with all of the talented students in the distance graduate programs. Natalie will be working closely with students in the Audience Analytics, Cross Media Sales, Global Strategic Communication, and Public Relations specializations.

Amy Jo Coffey

Audience Analytics Program Director

Dr. Coffey’s research centers on media management and economics, and audience valuation and non-English language audiences in the United States in particular. She has examined linguistic market segmentation and Hispanic television audiences, as well as the legal and economic questions of market definition. Learn more about the Audience Analytics program.

Global Strategic Communication Program Director

Robert Grupp is director of the master of arts in mass communications graduate program in global strategic communication in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. He teaches the capstone course in the program and serves on the program’s Advisory Council. Learn more about the Global Strategic Communication program.

Lisa Hope

Lisa Hope

Digital Strategy Program Director

Lisa graduated from the College in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism specializing in online media, and a MAMC in social media in 2014. In a previous position, she led marketing efforts for the College’s distance programs, focusing on lead generation, brand building, and social media. Currently, she is the Digital Strategy Program Director and professor. She teaches copywriting and gamification.

Richard Kalehoff

Richard Kalehoff

Web Design Program Director

Richard Kalehoff is a graduate of Belhaven University with a degree in Computer Science, where he received the school’s Computer Science award. He also has a degree from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications with an MA in Web Design and Online Communication. Before graduating from the University of Florida, he had already been asked by the University to come on board as a faculty member. Richard taught for several years before becoming the Director of the Web Design Program.

Ellen Nodine

Public Interest Communication Program Director

Ellen Nodine is the Director of Programs and Training at the Center for Public Interest Communications at the University of Florida. Ellen is also adjunct faculty for the College of Journalism and Communications, teaching multimedia writing in the journalism department. Ellen has served as the lead organizer for the frank gathering since its inception in 2014. She also is the operational director for Changeville, an annual festival for artists using their work to drive positive social change. Ellen received her Master of Education from UF, with a specialization in education technology and curriculum development. 

Patrick O'Keefe

Patrick O’Keefe

Political Communication Program Director

Patrick O’Keefe is the program director for the online master’s specializing in political communications at the University of Florida. He serves as the Executive Director for the Maryland Republican Party, leading all budgeting, staffing, and communications for the state party. Patrick previously served as the chief of staff for Delegate Christian Miele, Maryland grassroots digital director for the Marco Rubio presidential campaign, and as the head of growth for the education-technology startup Clutch Prep.

Andrew Selepak

Andrew Selepak

Social Media Program Director

Dr. Andrew Selepak is the program director for the social media online master’s degree specialization. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in American History, a MA from George Mason University in Communications, and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida in mass communications. His has conducted research on media effects, political communication, and online and social media. Learn more about the Social Media program.
