Ryan Anderson, M.S., M.A.

Adjunct Instructor

As a UF grad, Ryan Anderson knows firsthand that it is truly great to be a Florida Gator. Ryan graduated from UF with a Master of Arts in Mass Communication with an emphasis on Public Interest Communication, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Global Strategic Communication. He also earned a Master of Science in Sport Management from Houston Christian University. Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with an emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising, from the University of Central Florida. Ryan has over 30 years’ experience bringing stories to life in academic, government, corporate and non-profit settings while serving in various roles from intern to director.

In addition to his role as an adjunct instructor in the College of Journalism and Communications, Ryan also works as a journalist and strategic communications director. Some of the topics his writing focuses on is the plight of the Florida Manatee, as well as the disturbing rise in news deserts and the resulting spread of misinformation that fills the void when newsrooms go dark.

Ryan is a firm believer that one never stops learning. He also believes that experience and knowledge should be shared, and that ideas should be cultivated. As an educator, Ryan works tirelessly to show the benefits of knowledge, while also equipping his students with valuable tools to ensure that they are empowered to handle the communication challenges of this generation and the generations that follow.
