Doda Lulgjuraj, Ph.D.

Adjunct Professor

Doda Lulgjuraj brings a rare combination of newsroom instinct, corporate strategy, and government experience to his work as a communications educator.

He spent years as an Executive Producer at WDIV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit, before moving into corporate communications at LG Energy Solution, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, where he developed messaging at the intersection of energy, technology, and public affairs. He later served as Director of Communications for Wayne County, Michigan. There, he led communications strategy for one of the most complex government operations in Michigan, managing media relations, public affairs, and executive messaging.

In 2026, Lulgjuraj co-founded Parallel 40 PR, a strategic communications firm based in Metro Detroit focused on helping organizations build credibility and drive growth.

His academic work runs parallel to his practice. He holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Media from Liberty University, where his doctoral research examined how educators understand and teach teen media literacy.

At UF, he teaches Public Relations Strategy and Messaging, drawing on two decades of storytelling, crisis navigation, and audience-centered communication across broadcast, corporate, and government settings. He is based in the Detroit area.
