Curriculum

The online Master of Arts in Mass Communication with a specialization in Web Design and Online Communication is a 36-credit program built around hands-on coursework and a final capstone project. Students complete 33 credits of coursework and electives, then finish with three capstone credits. Courses are taught by University of Florida faculty and industry professionals.

Program Format and Class Structure

  • Students generally take one to three classes per semester and progress through the program at a manageable pace.
  • The fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks, and the summer semester is 13 weeks. All courses follow the traditional UF Academic Calendar.
  • Full-time students can complete the curriculum in 16 months.
  • Classes meet live at scheduled times during the week, allowing for real-time interaction and engagement.

MAMC Core – 6 Credits Required

General Electives – 6 Credits Required

Capstone Project – 3 Credits Required

Graduate Certificate

Students who do not plan to pursue the full master’s degree can complete a graduate certificate in Web Design and Online Communication. The certificate includes the first four courses in the curriculum and focuses on core web design and digital communication coursework.

 Some students start with the graduate certificate and later apply to the master’s program. With admission, students can apply certificate credits toward the master’s degree.
